Traffic Improvements at Berryessa Road and Capitol Avenue

The City of San José’s Department of Transportation is testing out new signal equipment at Berryessa and Capitol and 40 other intersections where light rail runs.  The Department was able to fund the new controller system through grant funding.  You should be experiencing some positive changes, especially during the evening commute hours.  Previously, the signal lights did not pick up where they left off when Light Rail passes through and some drivers endured long waits.  The first testing continue until October and an additional 50 intersections will be getting new equipment next year.
