District 4 Selects Neighborhood Commission Candidates
Today is an exciting day, as community members gathered at the Berryessa Branch Library and witnessed the first District 4 Neighborhood Caucus to select the commissioners who will represent District 4 on the Neighborhood Commission.
The Neighborhood Commission forms an integral part of the community engagement process and provides valuable insights into many of the emerging neighborhood issues. It provides a crucial link to empower the voices of our community members. District 4 had four Neighborhood Commission candidates and eight neighborhood groups registered to provide voting delegates at the Neighborhood Commission Caucus.
I would like to extend my appreciation to Gail Sueki for all of her hard work and outreach efforts as the District 4 representative on the Neighborhood Commission Ad Hoc Working Group. She has dedicated many hours working with the advisory group on coming up with the criteria and process for the districts to use. I would also like to thank our candidates and delegates for volunteering their time to represent District 4 by serving on the Neighborhood Commission.
After two rounds of balloting, Chris Zhou, David Biagini, and Rafael Sabic were selected as the three commissioners and Linda Locke was chosen as the alternate to represent District 4 on the Neighborhood Commission. I thank everyone who attended this significant event and I congratulate our new commissioners.
We are making history today in District 4 because we are taking a step forward to ensure all neighborhoods are represented by their neighbors.
