It has been a great honor and privilege to serve the community for the last two decades. Since I was elected to the City Council in 2007, I have worked with stakeholders to create the North San Jose Neighborhood Plan, established the Berryessa Business Association, located the Berryessa Farmers Market, moved Commodore Park and the Dog Park projects forward, expanded the Berryessa Branch Library Parking Lot, established critical infrastructure improvements in Alviso, among many other accomplishments. I am committed to preserving essential services, increasing open space and parks, keeping our communities safe, building a vibrant business community, improving our schools, and addressing important neighborhood issues.
I have supported Open Government reforms, helped defeat a tax hike in North San Jose, and championed policy around healthy living and sustainable environment. I serve on 21 local and regional governing committees and represent San Jose on the League of California Cities and the Association of Bay Area Governments boards. I would like to continue my two decades of public service for the benefit of all current and future residents.
Together, we can make San Jose a better place to work, play, raise a family, and to retire. I humbly ask for your vote to re-elect me for my final term.
Sincerely,
Kansen
