At the end of 2014, I will have served 8 years as a San Jose Councilmember. I would like to further my public service to the community and run for California State Assembly District 25, representing Alviso, Berryessa, Milpitas, Newark, North San Jose, Santa Clara, and South Fremont. As your Assemblymember, I am committed to enhancing our public education system; safeguarding our environment; providing a transparent and open government; creating jobs; and improving transportation in our community. My experience serving on the San Jose City Council and Berryessa Union School Board; running a small business; working as an engineer for IBM; being a District Director for a state legislator; and my decades of community service provide me the extensive skills needed to serve and represent you. I understand our region’s needs and currently serve on 22 local and regional governing committees, including being a board member on the League of California Cities, Association of Bay Area Governments, and the Cities Counties School Partnership.
