Kansen Chu (D) wins top spot in June 3rd primary. Will face Bob Brunton (R) on November 4th general election. Details to follow.
Thank you so much for all the support you have given me throughout these long months. I am honored to have so much support from leaders of the community, my neighbors, my friends, my family, and even new friends and voters I have met along the way. Your support led to my winning the highest number of votes on June 3rd, and with your help, will lead to victory on November 4th!
I will be an Assemblymember committed to creating jobs and strong economic development, enhancing our public education system, advocating for investment in transportation and water projects, protecting the safety net, and safeguarding our environment.
I have served on the San Jose City Council and on the Berryessa Union School Board, and understand the many issues confronting our diverse population. I've successfully run a small business, and have worked as an engineer for IBM, one of the largest tech companies in the world. This well-rounded experience has honed my knowledge and skills, and has prepared me to take on even broader challenges on the State level.
While serving as Councilmember of San Jose, I initiated landmark legislation that requires citywide green building standards, bans the use of plastic bags, and mandates the installation of automatic heart defibrillators across San Jose. In addition, I worked with stakeholders to create the North San José Neighborhood Plan, established the Berryessa Business Association to help grow and support local businesses, helped to start the Berryessa Farmers Market to make it easier for residents to enjoy healthy and locally grown fruits and vegetables, and moved the long-awaited Commodore Park and dog park projects forward to provide additional opportunities for exercise and recreation.
As a member of the California State Assembly, I want to expand on my success, and tackle the tough economic, environmental and educational challenges facing our district.
I am looking forward to talking about these and other issues with voters throughout District 25. I am excited about serving you, and I want you to be my partner in this campaign to build a better, safer, more prosperous State for ourselves and our children.
Your early contribution will support me significantly in my campaign for State Assembly. The maximum contribution for the State Assembly race is $4,100 but any amount is truly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support!
